The workflow was a little tedious, but worth it. Once I sold off the Sony gear to fund my Olympus camera and lenses, I stopped using it.
I tried DxO and ON1 with mostly good results. In time, I got interested in the Fuji system. Love it so far. ON1 was the only program I had on hand to process my Fuji raw files – but it has issues. And along with those, I had purchased an external gpu to use on my new Mac mini. Too many issues with crashes. That’s an eye opener! I also though my images were fairly sharp from ON1 – not so apparently.
I went through and reprocessed a number of recent photos to compare. I’m amazed at the output. Not a big fan of catalogs or even Sessions in C1, but I’ll have to adapt.
I went ahead and purchased the C1 Pro for Fuji. That will be the main raw processor. I can still manage some creative edits with ON1 or Luminar. Usemygoodeye Premium Member Thread starter. A few re-edits I’ve found C1 workflow more to my liking than other post processor on the market today and I’ve a few of them. I start in sessions and them move images over to a catalog for easier referencing.
I started this process about two years ago. I had never use a catalog before that at all ever. Have catalog the last seven year of images and still have few more to do. Watched a video two years ago about moving images from sessions to catalog and found it worked for me.

Just depends on your needs. I think if you want to do RAW processing and get a faithful reproduction of the original situation then COP is very good. If you want to make some whacky edits or changes then some other softwares work better.
Click to expand I’ve bought the full PRO version because I also shoot Nikon and like you, find myself re-editing older images and am not disappointed with C1’s results There are a great many useful tutorials on Capture One’s YouTube resource hub and currently live webinars are being aired frequently as well.

Welcome to the C1 club. I’ve been thrilled with it since I started using it last year. In addition to its superior processing of RAF files, I use layers extensively perhaps I should take better pictures to begin with. I, too, really enjoy Paul Reiffer’s videos. I can tell you that LR feels dog slow when returning to it since using C1 which is one compelling reason for me to evaluate C1 as an alternative. I plan to post a brief article based on my experience with processing a shot that I took in Skye, Scotland back in I love the shot and over the years I’ve edited, re-edited and re-re-edited in LR, Photoshop, Luminar etc.
2109 decided phhoto edit the RAW in C1 and was very pleased with the result of 5 minutes work. I have perhaps spent hours or even days over the last 10 years on this image so it is an interesting comparison capyure edits. One issue here is support for the purchaser of the product.
I am trying out Capture One Pro now and have had import and smart album issues. They have a support forum on their site and I am dumbfounded by the lack of any presence from their support folks. This is an expensive program that has just had a MAJOR release and they are not monitoring it r frfe any support on their own forum.
I don’t care how good a piece of software is if you cannot get decent support. If you are considering switching you may want to consider the fact you are not going to get support issues responded to the same way you will with Adobe products.

This was an issue for me as well. Downllad submitted a few raws detailing the issue along with results from 6 other programs to their support page. They agreed there was an issue and then I never heard anything frse.
