Not so impressed with the Pro Tools First, ok to learn DAW but limited upload to cloud and a hand full of other small issues for a person to be able to perfect. Focusrite however is first class, even had tech call me when faced with a simple issue and that is well beyond average.

Techs usually only answer calls, not return a call. After a few months, I have nothing but good things to say about my 18i20 thus far. Even though the control software wasn’t immediately intuitive and some programs needed some finicking to interface properly the build quality, sound quality, and overall experience have been very positive. I’m looking forward to doing some bigger projects are pushing the equipment a bit more than I have so far!

Great quality piece of gear for a home studio. My son has been making drum covers as of late and with 8 channels the Scarlett handles everything very well. He’s using it with a newer Mac mini and Logic Pro X and the quality of the recordings have been pretty stunning. Fantastic audio interface, great sounding preamps and high quality signal processing. For the price, you won’t find a better 8 mic pre interface.

Perfect for budget home studios trying to break into live drum tracking. High quality build too, it’s quite heavy and durable for those who would bring it out to practice spaces or mobile studio owners.

Everything from ordering, receiving and the device. Received quickly. As described. Works wonderfully. Highly recommend this seller and item! I bought this from Guitar Center today, so I’ve only had a few hours to play around with it. Initial impressions are a bit negative. I was disappointed at how necessary the Focusrite Control software is needed for this device.

It wouldn’t even give me sound until I configured my outputs through this software. After I found a good workflow through this software, it works just fine! I’ll probably come back when I have a full band playing through this thing. Using this interface with Ableton was absolutely a breeze! Definitely worth every penny though. Inputs and Outputs work brilliantly, and it’s an absolute must if you’re going to be recording different instruments to different tracks.

Also great for recording separate mics for podcasts and pretty much anything where you need to record mics separately.

I really wish I would’ve purchased this product four years ago. One person found this helpful. Everything is perfect but the size of the knobs! Works great, clean sound and the app allows lots of extra control. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. My system: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, Pro Tools I couldn’t get this to install on my Win10 music rig initially. But I was due a clearout so I wiped the C drive and did a fresh Win7 install, giving it a full set of updates.

Then when I plugged the Scarlett in after installing the Focusrite Control centre it all went fine. And everything is very stable under Pro Tools.

The converters sound bright and punchy, and the mic preamps are reasonably quiet. Most aspects of this machine are well designed and decent quality. I’m not fussed about the Phantom power switching arrangement. My dynamic mics are balanced and aren’t affected by having 48 volts across them. My only criticism is of the ‘Control Centre’ app. With 25 years experience as digital audio engineer this thing is the craziest routing software I’ve EVER seen.

Come on Focusrite it’s as mad as a box of frogs, design us something better ;-. Great mid range audio interface. Has everything you need plus more.

Windows 10 gives an error when plugging it in. Plenty of empty suggestions by M-Audio on their forums and none work for most people. Some people found it works in USB 2. It works on my wife’s old mac so it gets two starts because I моему free adobe acrobat reader for windows 10 64 bit Случайно really like it when it works.

It’s really small and compact which is what I need in my cluttered workspace. I have ableton live 9 suite amazon free joystick from about 15 years ago that still plug and plays perfectly on my new windows 10 build, but not this guy. It comes with the cable, the manual, an ignite activation card and the quickstart manual.

The only drawback probably is that it uses the mini, not the more popular micro usb type that is part of most android based phones and nearly all modern electronics. Love its plug and play, the range is just good, and the size is even better, you can pack it very easily into a school backpack without even the need for a separate case.

It has rubber feet that lets it stay on the surface and has got interesting confiuration options. It works well and has lots of functionality. The only complaint I have is similar to other people’s complaint. Sometimes it seems really hard to get to full velocity on the keys. Running a velocity meter it seems like really banging on the keys gets me too around a but if I really pound the keys I can get to a full Not a huge deal for me as I can adjust for that in my Daw. Overall, I’m really happy with it and would recommend it. At first this was a great keyboard for composing on the go.

Its overall sturdy and the feel on the keys even though a bit awkward to play because they are smaller just like the Irig is great.

I like these keys more than the IRig ones. Velocity curves are nicely thought. Verified Purchase. This is a great keyboard and I really like it. Especially for a person that is new to MIDI keyboards.

I would plug it into my laptop and use it to speed up note input or just use it with a freestanding midi piano to compose with pencil and paper. One day, I tried plugging it into my phone and it worked!

Now, after the latest android update, it appears the keyboard is no longer recognized by my phone. You would may as well compose with a brick.

To the point, the keys are tiny even compared with my 25 key Akai LPK midi controller. In addition, the key travel is so shallow it’s like the Chicket keys on an Apple laptop. The tactile feel is lacking again, even compared to another tiny 25 key controller. The lack of key travel also, at least, gives one the impression of having less control over the velocity sensitivity. In short, while I really like the idea of having 7 extra keys, their lack of size and shallowness are deal breakers.

I’m sending this thing back immediately. After my swift intervention I suggested a midi. This is what I bought her. It has lots of options, very nice key response, it’s fairly light weight and the free software that you can download for it with the supplied software key has plenty of options for anyone budding piano player.

The only trouble I had was setting up the software. It’s not plug and play. You have to download a file via another site, go into settings and direct it to said file and then it will make sound.

It took me about 30 minutes of searching the web and watching a few tutorials on YT and finding the correct download link. Being a computer technician it was more of a hassle than anything but for an average user it might take a bit longer. Nevertheless it’s well worth the purchase. Truth be told, the iZotope Spire is actually a hardware-software package—and you can download the Spire software itself for free. Once you pair it up, you can record several simultaneous tracks via the Spire device. This interface is great with really great sounding mic pre amp and easy to work with.

This is what I bought her. It has lots of options, very nice key response, it’s fairly light weight and the free software that you can download for it with the supplied software key has plenty of options for anyone budding piano player.

A musician using aftermarket software probably wont have any problems with setup.

One person found this helpful. Cox Top Contributor: Fountain Pens. Lacks velocity curve setting not needed for PC but could be an issue for non-PC. I hoped for the quality to be a tier above lower priced keyboards and I think it was worth it. I have no issue whatsoever with the keyboard – the keys feel good.

The ONLY issue I could possibly have with this is there’s no way to adjust a velocity curve on the keyboard itself. That could be a big issue for someone using this keyboard to drive a sound module or other midi box directly because it would mean you have to hit the keys very hard. However, if using this with a PC this is no issue at all because you can just set the velocity curve in your software! See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I’m a professional music typesetter, though don’t do much as I’m also a text typesetter and musicologist, so those things take up most of my time.

This means that I don’t have a keyboard permanently linked to my computer, so if I want to typeset something I either do it the long way or I have to half kill myself to clear my desk to fit the full-size-speakers-included-weighted-keys Yamaha midi keyboard and find some place to balance the mac keyboard on there as well. Yes, stupid. I had no idea midi controllers were so cheap, and this one doesn’t even have to have a socket to plug it into the wall because it’s powered through the USB.

I reckoned I might be taking a risk, but this is perfect, particularly as I’m setting choral music with a limited range and basically single-note lines with the odd split parts. The tiny keyboard is very slightly shorter than my apple extended keyboard and a little thicker than the thick edge of the keyboard, so it’s very neat on the desk. The keys are short and slightly narrower than my standard size keyboard, but only slightly.

I was setting one note at a time, and apart from having to be a bit careful not to brush an adjacent note just a case of getting used to the size I had absolutely no difficulty. On occasion I had to check a note by hearing it in the chord, and I had no difficulty playing the chord with all 6 notes. I didn’t have to select any midi device, the system just found it and I could start typing in using speedy entry right away.

The only function I’ve used is the octave up or down — usefully the little buttons change colour if you’ve pressed one and change colour again if you press more than once so you can see at a glance whether you’re transposed or not. I could set all of the soprano, alto and tenor parts without shifting 8ve, and most of the bass.

If I’m really picky I’d say the length of the keyboard is mildly annoying because I did have to use octave shift, but a lot less annoying than having to get my full-size keyboard onto the desk, and I could have bought a bigger midi controller for more money, so I can’t complain about that. If you’re likely to have to do a lot of 8ve shifting then get a longer keyboard. The range on this is 8ve below middle C to 8ve above plus a 5th g. I got the offer of the free trial period with some weird software that I didn’t want, so didn’t try it.

The offer did come through though by email, not in the box — some reviewers were annoyed they didn’t get it. So overall I think I’ve got a fantastic deal, and am so relieved I can leave this little thing plugged in all the time or just push it aside; no need for power supply USB powered , and I barely notice it on the desk.

If you just want to hammer in single-line music it’s a godsend, and once I’ve got used to it I’ll be as fast with this as I was with my big keyboard. I’m just about to throw this thing in the bin as it’s failed completely after only 6 months of very occasional use. It’s never worked reliably for me on Windows It’s also worth noting that even when it did work, it would never work inside a virtual machine Windows 10 x64 on Virtualbox. I got the USB device not recognised error there too, but it was every time.

Artist records and edits multiple takes of her voice and a MIDI keyboard using comping. Live organizes multiple passes of an audio or MIDI performance into individual takes. Pick the best moments of each performance and combine them to create your perfect take. Or approach sound design in a new way by splicing together random samples from your library. Link two or more tracks to edit their content simultaneously. This makes editing multi-tracked instruments or performances with multiple musicians easy and fast whilst keeping everything in time across tracks.

This feature also works for MIDI tracks. Plug in your MPE-capable controller and immediately add bends, slides and pressure for each individual note in a chord.

Add subtle expression variations, morph between chords and create evolving sonic textures. This way of using MIDI allows MPE-capable devices to control multiple parameters of every note in real time for more expressive instrumental performances. Edit the pitch, slide and pressure envelopes of each note to refine the expression of your takes. Or take your sound design further by sequencing polyphonic sound variations. And Live comes with MPE presets for each device that bring new dimensions of interaction and playability to your sound.

The new expressive possibilities also enable polyphonic aftertouch on Push. Hybrid Reverb combines convolution and algorithmic reverbs. Place your sounds in any space, from accurate real-life environments to those that defy physical reality.

Use the algorithmic side to add control and modulate the reverb tail, run it in parallel or in series with the convolution side, or play Hybrid Reverb like an instrument for real-time sound design. Breaks the spectrum of an incoming audio signal into partials, then stretches, shifts and blurs the result by a frequency or a note in subtle or radical ways. The MIDI sidechain input also allows musicians to process material in key and even play the device as if it were a polyphonic instrument.

Select a sound to hear it with various Spectral Resonator presets:. Transforms sound into partials and feeds them into a frequency-based delay, resulting in metallic echoes, frequency-shifted and reverb-like effects. The Freeze function captures and holds a slice of audio — either free-running or in time with the beat — for stuttered, glitched and washed-out effects.

Create jittery glitch effects, delayed digital shimmers and outlandish vibrato with this Max for Live pitch shifting device created in collaboration with Robert Henke and inspired by the Publison DHM 89 — an early digital effects processor. Six playful instruments and effects created in collaboration with Dillon Bastan that use natural and physical processes as their inspiration.

Vector FM — Manipulate different combinations of FM oscillators represented by moving particles — play with movement and voices to create evolving modulations and textures. Vector Grain — A granular looper that visualizes sound modulation by moving particles on the interface — play with attraction and magnetism or loop the particles through a flow field. Vector Delay — Each visualized particle in this multitap delay device represents a different delay line — create pitch shifting or reverse delay effects with movement controlled by physical forces.

Emit — This visual granular synthesizer uses particles shooting across a spectrogram to show the grain of a sample being played, while vertical movements represent filtering and panning. Tree Tone — Grow different fractal patterns inspired by plants, then use them as resonators for internally generated noise or incoming audio.

Bouncy Notes — Bounce balls up and down a piano roll to create pitch shifting delay effects or arpeggiation with this gravity-based MIDI sequencer. A producer and drummer duo show tempo following and Macro improvements in action. Live listens to and adjusts its tempo based on incoming audio in real time, making it a dynamic part of the band instead of the tempo source that everyone has to follow.

Store the state of your Macros for later recall — perfect for creating instant variations to your sounds or builds and drops during performance. Configure your Racks to have between 1 and 16 Macros. Randomize the state of your Macros with the randomization button. Map this control to MIDI and perform drastic changes in real time to surprise your audience and yourself.

Set the probability that a note or drum hit will occur and let Live generate surprising variations to your patterns that change over time. Define ranges for velocity probability for subtle, humanized variations in the dynamics of your patterns. Follow Actions can now be linked to the clip length, making it faster to create interesting sequences of clips. Scene Follow Actions let you create evolving arrangements.

You can also set Follow Actions to jump to specific clips and enable and disable Follow Actions globally. Upright Piano infuses your productions with the natural warmth of an upright piano. Feature a rich blend of trumpet, flugelhorn, tenor horn and trombone in your music. From delicate pizzicato droplets to full, vibrant layers, get the authentic timbres and textures of a string quartet. This interface is great with really great sounding mic pre amp and easy to work with.

Plenty of empty suggestions by M-Audio on their forums and none work for most people. Some people found it works in USB 2. It works on my wife’s old mac so it gets two starts because I actually really like it when it works. It’s really small and compact which is what I need in my cluttered workspace. I have a joystick from about 15 years ago that still plug and plays perfectly on my new windows 10 build, but not this guy.

The sustain has a mode in which you can press it very much like you would press or use a sustain pedal. That is, it sustains the notes when the button is pressed and as soon as you depress it the notes stop being sustained. This and much more comes in the user guide by the way.
