Top reviews from other countries. This is an excellent book on light room by an excellent author. I have a number of his books and they are really very good. You can start from beginning and work your way through or if you know a little bit about Lightroom already you can dip into the various sections.

There are lots of practical tips and suggestions. If you have Lightroom I would say this is the one and only book you need to get to get you up and running. So much content! But written in a way to take you from complete beginner to expert in no time. I started working through the book methodically and really appreciated getting to know the basics of file management and editing. Now I use more as a reference tool. I was a little surprised to discover the extent that the camera RAW filter is used but it makes sense and certainly works for me.

I pre-ordered this from Amazon Prime and was first told that the publication date had been put back and then that the book had been withdrawn and they cancelled my order. Luckily I did a renewed search and I hope no one else has missed out getting this worthwhile book. Professionals may want a more advanced volume but for enthusiastic amateurs this is a very good book. Previously I had bought other guides to CC, all abandoned. This is excellent, it has opened up such a world of fun in CC for me.

I have had good competition success. I bought other Scott Kelby books after this one, all written in the same no-nonsense style. My skill level is very keen amateur. Already having another book by this author meant I knew what to expect and it hasn’t disappointed.

No doubt like so many other readers before me I was surprised how much of the first part of the book is devoted to Camera RAW but having read it, it makes so much sense. Everything is clearly explained in detail in easily read step by step stages with loads of useful tips. Scott Kelby’s style might not suit everybody’s taste but I like the way he presents his books and should I need more help on similar topics I’d have no hesitation buying more of his books.

I learned Elements using Scott Kelby’s then-current book and have used his books to learn each subsequent PSE release.

If you’re just starting with Photoshop, Scott’s books are a great way to learn. When upgrading from prior PSE releases, I’ve used Scott’s books as not just a way to learn new features, but as a complete refresher course on everything Photoshop can do. That said, the one improvement I can suggest is a summary or index of new features. I especially like the way Scott not just explains each feature, but tells the reader how HE uses it or doesn’t use it, but rather uses some other feature or technique instead.

He also does a great job of teach workflow: which Photoshop tools to use in what sequence; and you get to practice what he’s showing you using the exact same images he’s using in the book Scott provides link to download site.

Scott has the gift of being a really good teacher, I love all his books, will buy more in the future, gladly recommend to others. Jordan Top Contributor: Fountain Pens. Not his usual quality. I expected a book that explained how to do detailed photo retouching in Photoshop. I first purchased a Scott Kelby book around Been used PS since v4. I have learned most everything that I know from Mr. I am a 30 yr professional photographer and have taught numerous workshops collegiate level and High School art Teachers and I usually taught right out of his material.

I hadn’t purchased the newest and greatest for a couple years and thought that perhaps I am not leveraging all that could from PS CC I have not been disappointed. I’m an advanced amateur and have used Photoshop from very early days. I’ve learned a lot from this book.

For example, one frequent problem in landscape photography is the brightness range from the sky to the land. I just lived with this issue, but Kelby suggests using the graduated filer which acts like a neutral density gradient filter.

One problem of Photoshop is that there are many features that you just have to know about, that the menu system does not show them in obvious ways. This book doesn’t show you them all see Adobe’s reference manual , but it shows you how to do lots of useful things efficiently.

For a better understanding, take a look at the Table of Contents here on the Amazon web page. Which is only good if this is your first Kelby book. Scott Kelby is the man. Later where an image needs additions, removal or altering the appearance of individual images then Photoshop is the answer. I have been using Lightroom for ten years since its first issue. I have never regretted updating to each successive issue. This book is about twice as long as it needs to be owing to the excessively verbose style of the author who seems to struggle with getting to the point.

Another half of the book I didn’t need. Seems to cover the basics OK and helped me with a couple of issues with this tortuous software. Overpriced for a paperback.

Worth looking at alternatives. I have recently bought Adobe Lightroom 6 and I really needed some guidance on getting to grips with this software. After reading the really good reviews on this book I decided to purchase it.

The book takes you from the very beginning and and gradually takes you through all the stages on using this software. I can recommend this book to anyone wanting to use Lightroom 6 with some competence. It is easy reading, Onward and upwards you will be after following the very lucid instructions in this book. I purchased this Adobe Lightroom CC Book for Digital Photographers to teach me Lightroom, I had done a lot of research in to which book to purchase and being a complete novice this book by Scott Kelby was highly recommended by other reviewers and on online forums, after just a couple of days of reading and following the book, I think I’ve made the correct choice, time will tell.

This groundbreaking new book doesn’t just show you “which sliders do what” every Lightroom book does that. This book takes you beyond that to reveal the secrets of the new digital photography workflow, and he does it using three simple, yet brilliant techniques that make this just an incredible learning tool: 1 Throughout the book Scott shares his own personal settings and studio tested techniques he’s developed using Lightroom for his own photography workflow since well before Adobe released even the first Beta version.

He knows what really works, what doesn’t, and he tells you flat out which tools to use, which to avoid, and why. This is where Scott visually answers his 1 “most-asked” Lightroom question, which is: “Exactly what order am I supposed to do things in, and where does Photoshop fit in?

Both chapters start with an on-location photo shoot, including full details on the equipment, camera settings, and even the lighting techniques. You’ll see it all as he takes the photos from each shoot with you following right along using the very same images all the way through the entire workflow process, to the final output of the 16×20″ prints for the client.

Plus, because he incorporates Adobe Photoshop seamlessly right into this workflow, you’ll also learn some of his latest Photoshop techniques for portrait and landscape photography, which takes this book to a whole new level. It’s the first, and only book to bring the whole process together in such a clear, concise, and visual way. Best all, it’s taught in Scott’s trademark plain-English style that has won him legions of Photoshop fans around the world, and made him the 1 bestselling author of all computer books across all Computing and Internet categories since If you’re one of those people who learns best by actually doing the projects yourself; who learns best without all the complicated technical explanations and confusing jargon, and if you really want to start using Lightroom today to unlock the productivity secrets of “The new digital photography workflow,”there is no faster, more “straight-to-the-point” or more fun way to learn than this groundbreaking new book, and you are absolutely going to love it!

It has a level of entertainment and personality that most textbooks do not have. The writer writes to you as a person throughout the book so it is almost like a one on one kelgy with a teacher. I still will never understand why lhotographers is so incredibly overpriced.

I hope the http://replace.me/1796.txt in this book will help secure me a well paying job so that I can eventually pay off the loans used for books like this. Still, despite my passive aggressive nature towards the textbook industry and writers, frankly this is a well thought out book that is very insightful and full of great tricks.

If you are disciplined enough the book is really all you need to learn how to use Photoshop for photography. Scott Kelby sdott all the pictures use in the book so that you can follow along with the instructions. In full disclosure I am a fan of Kelby One. They are an excellent source for training on Photoshop and Light Room.

I have attended many of their seminars and watched a lot of scott kelby the adobe photoshop lightroom cc book for digital photographers free download videos. There is none better. One person found this helpful. The book is pleasant to read and it delivers the information in amount and style that does not make me feel lost.

I have been using photoshop for photo post-processing last 5 years since I learned the very phhotographers in a photography course. I found it difficult to progress further, because most of the educational material – videos and books, usually either tackle one separate issue say how http://replace.me/7491.txt make a model look fatter or contain way too much information that is not directly useful at that stage of knowledge.

The problem with tackling источник статьи isolated issue in a video for me is scott kelby the adobe photoshop lightroom cc book for digital photographers free download if I do not have any background information to anchor it into, I tend to forget it very fast.

Kelby’s book describes how things work in sufficient, yet not overwhelming detail. It provides a great overview over the functionality of Camera Bookk and Photoshop. One can easily find the way lightroo, certain subject, but I chose to read the book from cover to cover. The Camera Raw part is, by the way, extremely useful. Since I learned this powerful tool, I have observed that a large portion of my photos does not even need to be further processed in Photoshop.

Since the first day I discovered digital photography I have had Tbe Book for Digital Photographers on the desk as a reference for Photoshop. I really don’t know how he does it. His books are always clear and concise, with step by step instructions for some of the most difficult Photoshop procedures.

I have attended one of his lectures, and he his great at that, but nothing comes close to being as useful as his Book for Digital Photographers. These books are truly my Bible for correcting and producing great photographs. I don’t even throw out the old ones, because they are useful for reference.

I как сообщается здесь myself asking “Where did I see instructions to correct this? I look forward to his latest version each year. Like most of Kelby’s books this is another home run, gold mine resource tool. The cover models’ skin looks plastic. Not the look you were going for, surely? Moreno Tagliapietra Top Contributor: Photography.

I am a part-time pro photographer and have been using Scott’s Photoshop books since he began writing them together with the encyclopedic books by Martin Evening.

Some people don’t like his style but what is relevant to me is the high quality of information he offers. Other commenters complain that a large part of the book is dedicated to Camera Raw but Scott years ago began rightfully stressing the fact that most of the picture-wide processing should be done in Camera Raw before moving to Photoshop for selective adjustments. For people who agree on this image processing strategy the book is very valuable.

The 4 stars are due to the microscopic size of text. Kelby is the best. If you really want to learn about Photoshop buy his books. This new edition is very user friendly like all of his other books. He makes complicated aspects of the program seem easy.

This is a fine book and one worth buying. For example, one of the essential features of Photoshop is layers. Layers is what makes editing in Photoshop nondestructive. Yet the book gives relatively scant coverage of layers. Don’t get me wrong. This book will teach you plenty about editing. Just don’t expect a thorough Photoshop manual. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I am a fan of Scot Kelby’s books, they are great to follow or to use when in trouble.

I bought this soon after the release of Photoshop CC version, which seemed to have released lots of modified approaches to editing issues that I used a lot. I have found this book very useful indeed – for me it’s much better that the myriad of videos available online.

I’ve used Scot Kelby’s books before and find them great. Once one gets used to Scott Kelby’s quirky style, this is a very informative book and I wouldn’t be without it. With that caveat, I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

Whether you are a beginner in Photoshop or an expert Scott has something for us all. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I can get right on with the work Scott Kelby’s style suits me fine. I can get right on with the work and, as I practice, learn more about the capabilities of Photoshop.

Report abuse. Another great book from Scott Kelby.

He has updated this edition for Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud. Well written, easy to understand and follow. Whether you are a semi-pro or amateur there is something for everyone. Definitely a must-buy. Just great, we would never be able to learn so much on our own.

It is extremely well written and easy to understand. A great buy and I thoroughly recommend it. Ken S. Get everything you need. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account information.

Update: Once past that nightmare, I think the book is helpful. Great effort is made to simplify complex operations, diagrams are reasonably good, the writing is engaging. There are a few glaring deficiencies in this book. I wanted to enlarge a photo to work on blemishes and such.

How does one do that? Good luck finding it. It certainly doesn’t jump out in the index. After an hour of infuriating fumbling around, I concluded that I need to go to the library view to enlarge, then back to the develop section to effect the changes. That’s crazy. Is there a better way to do this? Impossible to know from this book. I wanted to jump to a step in the history to remove that step.

It would have been nice to know that if I hit the delete key, the entire photo gets deleted, not the step I wanted to be removed.

How does one reverse the delete or even copy that photo back into the collection in which I was working? I stumbled around for at least another hour trying to figure out how to make that simple move, and the book was no help.

This is an author with a great reputation and a highly respected book. So then why isn’t there a page that lists all the shortcuts? To me that’s an incredibly basic list absent from the book. So the book is helpful but there are some substantial and significant deficiencies. I’ve read his previous Lightroom books and unfortunately, besides changing his work flow, there is not enough “new” info to make this worth buying.

But for me what was really disappointing was the fact that there are glaring typos – doesn’t anyone proof anymore? I wouldn’t even call them misspellings – just typos but come on! Maybe he’s just dashing them off so quickly that they are not vetted but I found this one had more “fluff” than his other books and too much time spent on modules that most users don’t bother with. Lightroom is a complex application with loads of features, many of which are hidden or aren’t intuitive.

This book does a really nice job of going through the core application, digging into those magical features, and explaining many use cases and workarounds that may not be obvious to a beginning user.

Great job, in the casual and humorous style I’ve come to enjoy from the author. My one critique is the section on Lightroom CC nee Mobile. Both the desktop and mobile versions are still evolving rapidly. I read Kelby’s earlier edition several years ago and found it very good and helpful.

There are lots of practical tips and suggestions. If you have Lightroom I would say this is the one and only book you need to get to get you up and running. So much content! Verified Purchase. The books itself is great. I have learned so much from this textbook and I am only six weeks into my class. The way that it is written is very refreshing for a textbook.

It has a level of entertainment and personality that most textbooks do not have. The writer writes to you as a person throughout the book so it is almost like a one on one lesson with a teacher. I still will never understand why it is so incredibly overpriced. I hope the lessons in this book will help secure me a well paying job so that I can eventually pay off the loans used for books like this. Still, despite my passive aggressive nature towards the textbook industry and writers, frankly this is a well thought out book that is very insightful and full of great tricks.

I purchased the book as required text for a college course that I am taking. If you are disciplined enough the book is really all you need to learn how to use Photoshop for photography. Scott Kelby provides all the pictures use in the book so that you can follow along with the instructions. I will say that on some examples the instructions are no clear but the reader can easily figure out what to do.

In full disclosure I am a fan of Kelby One. They are an excellent source for training on Photoshop and Light Room. I have attended many of their seminars and watched a lot of training videos. There is none better. One person found this helpful. The book is pleasant to read and it delivers the information in amount and style that does not make me feel lost. I have been using photoshop for photo post-processing last 5 years since I learned the very basics in a photography course.

I found it difficult to progress further, because most of the educational material – videos and books, usually either tackle one separate issue say how to make a model look fatter or contain way too much information that is not directly useful at that stage of knowledge.

The problem with tackling an isolated issue in a video for me is that if I do not have any background information to anchor it into, I tend to forget it very fast. Scott Kelby, author of the world’s 1 bestselling Photoshop book, The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers , brings his same award-winning, step-by-step, plain-English style, look and feel to The Lightroom Book for Digital Photographers.

I’m only 37 pages into this book and though I admit the book looks pretty and simple to follow, I cannot express how truly terrible, disorganized and confusing the book has already been. Chapter 1 urges the reader to organize one’s photos into a file system and place them on a backup drive, NOT the hard drive. Unfortunately, crucial information on how to do this properly, and pitfalls to avoid, was lacking and those omissions resulted in multiple duplicates of my photos in the Lightroom catalog.

It’s no small task eliminating duplicates from Lightroom–something not covered in this book–so I had to wipe everything out import thousands of photos again.

Unfortunately, Chapter 2 contradicts the instructions in chapter 1, advising the reader to place all photos back on the hard drive otherwise loading photos will be too slow! That process was not as described and I lost most of my but backed up photo data. As a result of that, I had to wipe clean the Lightroom library again and import photos into the app’s catalog system a third time! The author also advises the reader to organize the photos in a certain fashion in chapter 1, but as it turns out, a lot, if not most of the organization was unnecessary and in fact, will actually make it harder to organize them in Lightroom’s catalogs and collections system.

This edition on Lightroom CC is introducing me to many of those changes I knew nothing about.

And these changes are for the GOOD. Many procedures are much easier now but I never knew anything about them until I started going through this book. Get it!! You will not regret it!! Scott Kelby’s style of writing his instruction books never fails. He is detailed, easy to follow and always entertaining. This is a must have book if you have questions about Lightroom anything from how to get started to wanting to know more advanced features.

I find all his books, and this is one is no exception, to be very friendly and you will be on your way to enjoying and learning Lightroom. Lightroom is not an easy program to learn on your own. Thank God for Scott Kelby who makes it a pleasure to learn it.

I’ve learned a lot from Scott Kelby, so when I finally decided to purchase Lightroom 6 DVD–I’m not pleased with all of these software subscription plans , this book was an easy choice.

Kelby does an excellent job of explaining the “how-to’s” and getting you started without feeling overwhelmed. I appreciate that he recommends certain settings, so you don’t have to guess.

You can always change them, if you find a need for something different. That said, LR is a complex program, so plan to take your time. Read a chapter and try it out before going on to the next one.

There are files you can download to practice with if you don’t want to use your own pics. The Kelby One website is also a fantastic resource for photographers, if you want to learn more about photography and photo editing, and gives you unlimited access to world class instruction. The explanations are simple and straight to the point.

Areas of improvement: 1. Too much waste of empty space between the illustrative pictures. The book is pages including the index. Lightroom is primarily for professionals who make a lot of photos per day like the author Scott Kelby. But Lightroom offers more photo importing, processing, and presentation options than Adobe Photoshop Elements.

I am not a professional in the sense that I am photographing every day but I am planning a trip where I might shoot well over a thousand photos in a two week period. So Scott Kelby’s suggestion to use an external harddrive for photos is golden. There is a lot more for me to learn but Scott Kelby has written a book that has the information necessary.

One person found this helpful. Very good book for someone who switched from another program to Lightroom 6. Walked me through the program and what it is capable of doing and also showed examples. Very good explanation of organizing your photos and storage.

The book’s author gives reasons why he uses certain functions of the program along with the steps to accomplish what he is explaining. I keep the book next to my computer and refer to it as I process images.

Well worth the money for me and I recommend it if your new to the software. OK, I just got started on this book, and I have nothing but respect for Mr.

Kelby for sharing his knowledge. I mean this must have been written without the ADHD medication! I think I’ll get over it. But if you are looking for linear reading, you will end up bitting your fingernails, your fingers to stubs.

Excellent book for Lightroom it can be used as a quick reference guide. This is a great book with a good systematic approach to understanding Lightroom which is a rather complicated software program.

This enabled me to understand and take advantage of the software’s capabilities. Highly recommended. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries.

A fully comprehensive guide to Lightroom Classic.

Andrew Faulkner. Sasha Vodnik. Exploring Typography. Tova Rabinowitz.
