You can use it as a standalone audio recorder, no plugs, no jacks, sound will be stored in the memory card. You can connect it with an USB and select USB Audio and connect to your PC, change your audio settings to select the zoom device either for playback or recording or both. Now with a DAW software or any other audio recording tool, you can record sound directly into your PC.

You can connect a lapel mic or any other headphone mic it has to be 2 ring 3. You can connect a headphone to the output jack and listen to the external sound in real time, by adjusting the sound reception level, you can convert into a hearing aid.

Go for some cardioid mic. You can get so many better mics in this price range. Very good product i love sound quality but there is a issu with my Zoom H1n.

When i try to record my voice using external mic like Boya Laple Mic it doesn’t record anything i have also try with other mic but problem is same it just record too much of electronic noise and nothing. And the worse part is that there is no service center in India and in Amazon there is 1 year Replace warranty but whre6to claim and how. Price dropped Rs after a day of purchase. Got it for I don’t mind that much since there is no store in my city who sells this product, but Amazon’s integrity does bother me.

As for the product it is powerful in fact very powerful my house is next to the main road and it picks up everything. I bought a wind shield it made a huge difference-a must have for h1n , went to the farthest room for road, closed everything window, door, fans , etc and recorded something.

It turned out fine after some editing. Its an omnidirectional mic of course it would pick up everything around it, but that’s exactly what I want with this product. If you want to record your voice or any instrument then go for a cardoid mic.

I solderet four mics two per channel to a stereo jack and plugged it into the “external mic” audio input of the Zoom H1. Then I connected the Zoom H1 to the Raspberry using a USB cable, and here’s the problem: I get a constant and annoying noise on both channels, but especially in the first one sx I guess?

Here are a few things I can say about it: There’s no problem with the mics they’re properly connected If I don’t connect the Zoom H1 to the Raspberry and I power everything with a battery I don’t get any disturb.
